1.General principles of manipulation with the horse as an animal an patient, occupation safety, diagnostic methods and procedures. 1 h 2.Investigation and evaluation of general health status and behaviour of the horse 1 h 3.Investigation of oxygen transport system (respiratory and cardiovascular apparatus, including haematology) 3 h 4.Investigation of gastrointestinal tract an liver functions 2 h 5.Investigation of locomotion and nervous systems 2 h 6.Investigation of urogenital tract and interpretation of laboratory results from morphology and biochemistry of blood and urine 2 h 7.Investigation in dermatology 1 h 8.Gastrointestinal diseases (syndromes: dysphagia, colic, diarrhoea) 3 h Summer term total 15 h

The practical training of students in both terms will be realised at a sequence to the topic of individual lectures. Credit conditions at both terms are the compulsory schooling workload including passing emergency duties at the Equine Clinic.
